Marrickville Dojo is holding a special Karate Training Workshop for all Martial Arts Practitioners and Operators in the district in the spirit of co-operation in the development of Martial Arts. While we train as a Full Contact style the workshops are open to all styles, with a focus on stand-up, full contact, as seen in Kickboxing, Muay Thai and Kyokushinkai.
We will provide an opportunity to spar with practitioners with similar experience and abilities, with all participation in the spirit of learning rather than direct competition. All training and sparring will be under the supervision of experienced Kyokushin leaders.
The Workshop will be held on 9th September at the Kanzen Karate Dojo, 79 Petersham Road, Marrickville, NSW. The Dojo will be open from 10:00am to 2:00 pm. The workshop will run from 10:30, commencing with Warm-Ups and Basics. This will be an opportunity to understand the Striking Techniques, Kicking Techniques and Defensive Processes used in Knockdown Full Contact Stand Up. There will be opportunities to work with partners to test any new learnings with a semi-compliant opponent. But there will alos be kumite sparring in a simulated tournament situation with practitioners with similar experience and abilities.
There will be a small charge of $20 for existing members of Power Karate or World Zen Kyokushin Dojos and $50 for all other participants. Spectators are asked to make a small donation to support the group.
